About Your Tutor

I grew up in a multicultural household with a Cuban mother and an American father. Bilingualism has always been a part of my life, but I didn’t gain Spanish fluency until my college years. I want to help students grow their second language skills while they are still young, so that they can begin to reap the benefits and joys of bilingualism now!

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s degree in English Language Learning. I have 8+ years of teaching experience, and I’ve worked with students from elementary through high school in one-on-one, small group, and full classroom settings—both virtually and in person. I have worked with students enrolled in public schools as well as homeschool co-ops. I love working with students, and am excited to lead you on your  language learning journey!

Do you offer tutoring services outside of your specific 4th-12th grade age-range?

Decisions for tutoring services outside of the specified age range will be made on a case by case basis. Contact me for more information.

There is not a time-slot available that works for me, do you have any other availability?

Sessions fill up fast and I have limited capacity, however you may contact me with your specific request, and we can discuss your options. If we are not able to schedule a session together due to our collective availability, you may request to be added to my waiting list.

What curriculum do you use?

I do not use one specific curriculum. I am familiar with state standards, as well as the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) guidelines, and reference these when planning my lessons. If a student is in a class, I will generally integrate the curriculum of their class into my planning. Otherwise, I work with students to set goals, and then curate resources and lessons that meet those goals. Students who are not taking a class, and are looking for intensive Spanish or ESL may be asked to purchase a recommended curriculum to support our work together.

Do you offer group tutoring sessions?

Decisions for group tutoring sessions will be made on a case by case basis. Rates will be adjusted accordingly. Contact me to discuss your options.
